These high-quality 8" composites scissors are manufactured using our exclusive blade design for effective cutting of dry carbon fabric and other composite reinforcements without slipping or snagging delicate fabrics.
These smaller 8" scissors are better for following accurate patterns. They also provide more leverage and are cutting heavier fabrics (including prepregs) up to around 700gsm.

The ultimate scissors for carbon, Kevlar® and general composites
Developed specifically for Easy Composites to our specification, these Sheffield made Wilkinson scissors are designed to offer the very best cutting and handling characteristics when working with Kevlar®, carbon fibre and other advanced composite materials.
The 8" Kevlar/Carbon Fibre Scissors feature a shorter blade, giving them increased leverage compared to our larger 10" Shears making them ideally suited to cutting heaver materials (such as heavy Kevlar/aramid reinforcement, pre-preg carbon fibre and chopped strand mat) and their smaller size makes them more manoeuvrable - particularly useful when cutting detailed templates.
The scissors are precision manufactured from high carbon tool steel and completely PTFE coated (using Xylan™ technology). These scissors will remain sharp for much longer than conventional scissors, cut easier (even through heavy Kevlar, glass or pre-preg carbon) and provide a lifetime of service.
They feature a sharp nose to make it easy to get under fabrics for the first cut and precisely adjustable resistance making them a joy to use.
Exclusively to Easy Composites, the serration is applied to the upper blade not the conventional lower blade making it much easier to cut carbon fibre and other valuable fabrics without the serration snagging the fibres as the scissors are moved through the fabric to make the next cut.

Due to the angle and serrations on the blades being designed specifically for composites use, you would tend to find that these composite shears will struggle to cut some thick and specialist upholstery fabrics
We would recommend selecting a dedicated upholstery/fabric shear for the most efficient cutting of those materials.
Yes, our Kevlar shears are ideal for cutting Diolen based fabrics. Diolen is similar in many of its characteristics to Aramid, including being difficult to cut with normal scissors.
These 8 inch shears are not available in a specific left handed version. However, we do have a left handed version of our normal Kevlar shears which you can see here:Professional 10 Inch Kevlar Shears Left Handed. They are primarily designed to cut Aramid based fibres but will also cut carbon fibres.
No, the sheet is too tough to be cut with these kind of shears. These shears are only designed to cut dry fabric. In reality, 1mm carbon fibre sheet is too thick to be cut but any type of scissor or shear. The simplest way to cut these sheets is with a rotary type cutting tool using a Perma-Grit 32mm Disc with Arbor.
However plenty of other power tools will work well such as dimension saws, jigsaws, band saws or even a grinder with a slotting disc. It is important to note that for best results use a metal cutting blade with fine teeth or a tungsten carbide gritted blade such as those from our Perma-Grit range of tools.
I did my self a favour when i bought it.
