With the classic appearance of 2/2 twill carbon fibre coupled with 100% roll-wrapped prepreg carbon fibre construction, these remarkable tubes look as good as they perform.
The tube listed on this page has an outside diameter of 60mm and an inside diameter of 57mm meaning that it has a wall thickness of 1.5mm suitable for most standard applications for a tube of this diameter.
This very large diameter tube is ideally suited to a wide range of applications such as recreational equipment, yachting (booms etc.), photography/video equipment (like camera rigs) as well as exhibition stands, lighting, modern furniture and architectural projects.
Further Information
Appearance
This 3K Woven Finish tube is manufactured from alternating layers of unidirectional prepreg carbon fibre for maximum strength with the final layer swapped for 2/2 twill, 3k woven carbon fibre so that the tube has the classic appearance of woven carbon fibre (exactly the same as our carbon fibre sheets for example). This means that although the tubes are designed for demanding mechanical applications, they also look fantastic, adding a cutting-edge carbon fibre appearance to any application.
To achieve the smooth, glossy appearance the tubes are surface ground, lacquered (with high-gloss UV resistant lacquer) and then polished. The end result is a carbon fibre tube of unrivalled visual appearance making it ideally suited for use in applications where it will be seen.
Performance
Although specially laminated, ground, lacquered and polished to produce a carbon fibre tube with a stunning appearance, our 10mm 3K carbon fibre tubes are serious tubes suitable for demanding engineering applications including robotics/automation, R/C models, UAVs, recreational equipment, motorsport and marine.
How to Cut and Shape
This carbon fibre tube can easily be cut and finished using simple workshop tools like a hacksaw and some wet-and-dry paper. Cutting and finishing a carbon fibre tube can also be perfectly safe if you follow some basic safety precautions.
