Glass fibre was the original and is still the most widely used type of reinforcement in composites. In this category you will find our range of woven glass fabric/cloth reinforcements in a range of weights from ultra-lightweight 25g scrim cloth up to medium weight 290g woven rovings. In all cases, these dry woven glass reinforcement fabrics are intended to be combined with a resin system, such as polyester or epoxy, to create a rigid glass reinforced plastic/GRP/fibreglass composite material.
All woven glass fabrics within this category are suitable for processing by all standard methods including wet-lay, vacuum bag and resin infusion and using all typical resin systems including epoxy, polyester and vinylester. Woven glass fabric can be used on its own as the reinforcement for fibreglass/GRP moulds or components, or can be combined with other types of reinforcement such as carbon fibre or synthetic fibres to produce a laminate with particular properties. Woven glass cloth can be used in a huge range of applications as diverse as ultra-light skins on RC wings and airframes, scrimming foam patterns, vehicle panels, surfboards, dinghies, and mould making. Woven glass fabrics often makes an excellent alternative to traditional chopped strand mat (CSM) especially when working with epoxy resin where the lack of a binder to break down and the improved mechanical properties of a continuous fibre cloth tend to be a better match for epoxy resin.
Like all our reinforcement fabrics, our woven fibreglass cloth is rolled to order and available to buy in any length, sold the linear metre. We can also supply in wholesale full roll quantities for unbeatable pricing.
