VB200 is an aerospace-grade, multilayer mono-nylon vacuum bagging film suitable for cure temperatures up to 200°C/400°F. VB200 offers very high tensile strength making it ideally suited to demanding high temperature/pressure curing applications such as aerospace prepregs.
Typical Uses:
VB160 is not compatible with phenolic resin systems
How to Buy
This vacuum bagging film is available to buy in a folded 5lm pack, by the linear metre (10lm minimum order) or in wholesale rolls of 100lm. Please choose how you would like to purchase the film from the drop-down list above.
The film itself is 1.52m wide and is supplied in an LFT (lay flat tube) format meaning that each linear metre is equal to 3.02sqm.
The 1.52m width of the bagging film means that (except for the folded pack) it is supplied in a 160cm long box. Please be aware that this 'oversize' package can result in higher transport costs for some international destinations. The 5m pack is folded into a small package which avoids this 'oversize' charge.

We believe we offer unbeatable prices on vac bagging consumables. To make comparisons easy, select the different pack/roll sizes from the drop down menu above:
Further Information
Multilayer Reliability
VB200 uses multiple 100% PA (Nylon) layers for maximum reliability. Multilayer technology eliminates problems caused by imperfections, pin holes or weaknesses in the film by combining layer after layer into a single, ultra-reliable film.
Lay Flat Tube Format
VB200 is supplied at 1.52m wide in a lay-flat tube (LFT) format meaning that off the roll it is two layers of film with either edge already sealed. This means that each linear metre supplied is actually 3.04sqm.
Working with film in a lay flat tube format like this means that it's often possible to make use of one or both of the existing seams, reducing the amount of bagging tape required to seal your bags and speeding-up the bagging process. It also makes it possible to slit the bag down just one side and open it up to a very wide 3m width - ideal for large bagging projects.
Recommended Uses
VB200 is most typically used as a specialist bagging film when working with high cure temperature prepregs, applications at high pressures or those requiring a particularly high strength/high reliability bagging film (such as tool leak-testing), making it ideal as a high temperature bagging film or autoclave vacuum bagging film.

All of our bagging films can be sealed with a good quality heat sealer. Most sealers will be adjustable to enable you to find the right balance and get a perfect seal.
50 micron bags offer a good balance of resistance to puncture yet still offers suprior flexibility and elongation to help with consolidation and pressure in tight corners and complex mould shapes. As such, we do not currently offer any thicker bags.
Although it's possible that a localised exotherm was hot enough to exceed the maximum temperature of the bag and cause it to melt, it's much more likely that the problem was caused by the phenolic resin attacking the bag.
As a rule, phenolic resins should not be used in direct contact with nylon bagging films such as VB160 and VB200. Whilst there are some nylon bagging films that have been modified and developed specifically to be resistant to phenolic resins, these are not the ‘norm’ and not a product we currently have in our range.
Without going to the lengths of sourcing a phenolic resin compatible bagging film, your best (and easiest) option would probably be to use some FEP release film, such as our R210 Release Film, between the laminate and the film. FEP films have good resistance to phenolic resins and will protect a nylon bagging film like VB200 from being damaged.
