This remarkable UV-curing cyanoacrylate (superglue) adhesive can be used to make high strength bonds between a wide range of substrates in seconds using a UV torch.
The completely clear adhesive can also be used to instantly make spot repairs or fill pinholes on composite laminates, especially prior to clearcoat or paint.
Sold in 20g tubes. Note: 130UV should be stored refrigerated at 2-7 °C.

130UV from Permabond® is a remarkable low viscosity clear UV curing cyanoacrylate adhesive (superglue) that can be used to make instant, high strength structural bonds between a wide range of substrates including most plastics, composites, rubber and metals.
130UV’s ‘dual cure’ technology means that whilst the adhesive will cure within a few seconds when exposed to concentrated UV light (such as from a UV torch) it will also cure fully without UV exposure, albeit more slowly, by means of a conventional moisture cure reaction. This is especially useful when bonding opaque substrates where UV exposure will achieve instant cure of the exposed adhesive, whilst conventional moisture cure will fully cure thin sections of adhesive in shadow areas.
Without concentrated UV exposure from a UV torch, 130UV offers plenty of working time, allowing complex assemblies to prepared and aligned before snap curing when ready using a UV torch.
When exposed to UV light, Permabond® 130UV cures clear and tack-free with no bloom (whitening effect) in a matter of seconds. Where slightly thicker fillets are used, UV light will penetrate and fully cure the adhesive where a conventional moisture-cure cyanoacrylate may not fully cure.
Instant Pinhole Filler / Spot Repair
One particularly useful application for UV130 is its use as an instant pinhole filler or spot repair system for composites, particularly filling pinholes on cosmetic carbon fibre composites. UV130’s completely clear appearance, bloom-free surface and ability to cure in seconds, even in thicker sections, mean that small pinholes and defects on a component’s surface can be filled, cured, flatted and finished in a matter of minutes.
130UV is highly recommended for filling small pinholes and voids prior to clearcoating carbon fibre parts with FANTOM CLEAR™ carbon fibre clearcoat.

Storage
Although UV130 cures fastest when exposed to concentrated UV light from a torch, it will still cure in the UV light from natural light so take extra care to clean the nozzle thoroughly with an IPA wipe and replace the lid immediately when not in use.
130UV should be stored refrigerated at 2-7°C. When stored at this temperature, the shelf-life is 12 months.
Suitable UV Torches
Whilst 395nm frequency is recommended, most UV torches are suitable for curing Permabond® 130UV. The speed of the cure will depend on the power of the UV torch, its spectral output, distance from the bond line and the transmission characteristics of the substrates (i.e. their opacity).
Easy Composites offer a low cost, battery operated 395nm UV torch suitable for localised UV curing of 130UV adhesive in just a few seconds.
