Woven Aramid / Kevlar Cloth Reinforcements

Aramid fibres are very high tenacity man-made fibres with excellent mechanical properties in tensile strength and especially in elongation-to-break, they also have extremely high resistance to heat, impact and abrasion. The most well-known brand of aramid fibre is Kevlar® but other brands of aramid fibre, such as Twaron®, have very similar properties.

In this category we list pure aramid cloth, woven entirely from genuine Dupont® Kevlar® aramid fibre; 100% Kevlar cloth offers the maximum possible impact and abrasion strength and can be used on its own or in a laminate together with other fibre types to produce components with greatly improved impact strength. Kevlar cloth is frequently used in laminates for motorsport, canoes, kayaks, ballistics and much more. This dry Kevlar® fabric is suitable for use with most composite lamination methods including hand-layup, vacuum bagging and resin infusion. To ensure a good bond between the matrix and the aramid fibre, epoxy resin is recommended for use with aramid reinforcements.
