VuduGlu VM100 is a black, two part, fast-curing, high strength MMA (methyl methacrylate) adhesive suitable for bonding a wide variety of materials including composites, metals and plastics. It is particularly suited to the bonding of carbon fibre to itself, metals such as aluminium, titanium and steel, and many plastics.
At Easy Composites, VM100 is our ‘go-to’ adhesive for most composite bonding applications. Its very high peel and sheer strength, toughness, fast cure and minimal surface prep requirements make it the ideal adhesive for bonding carbon fibre tubes, sheets and components to each other and to metal inserts and fittings. In our own testing, only the significantly more expensive Permabond ET5429 and ET5428 recorded a higher shear strength when bonding carbon fibre to aluminium.
As well as all thermoset plastics including epoxy, polyurethane, polyester and vinylester, VM100 also has excellent bond performance to many thermoplastics including nylon, polycarbonate, ABS and PVC. For particularly difficult to bond thermoplastics, such as polypropylene, polyethylene and HDPE, we would suggest Permabond TA4610.
VM100 is black in colour to provide an inconspicuous bond when used with carbon fibre. Its fast cure reaches handling strength in 12 minutes and working strength in 30 minutes. Its consistency is a thixotropic gel suitable for gap-filling up to 5mm without slumping, as well as application to vertical surfaces. VM100 has excellent chemical and temperature resistance and can be used in environments from -55 to 120°C.

Pack Sizes and Dispensing
VM100 is available in a 25ml syringe, as well as 50ml and 400ml cartridges which can be selected at the top of the page. The 50ml and 400ml packs both require a 1:1 ratio cartridge dispenser gun:
The cartridges are intended to be used with static mixer nozzles which fully mix the two components as they pass through the nozzle. They are supplied with one nozzle but once used, adhesive cures in the nozzle and they need to be discarded. Additional nozzles are available to buy separately:
Shelf Life and Storage
For maximum shelf-life, VM100 Black should be stored unopened in a dry, dark location. MMA type adhesives are very temperature sensitive and will degrade in higher temperatures. The ideal temperature to maximise shelf life of the VM100 is to store refrigerated between 6°C and 12°C. Stored in this way, the adhesive has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture. If cool conditions are not available, then the shelf life will be reduced according to the table below:
Storage Temperature °C | Shelf Life |
---|---|
6-12 | 12 Months |
20 | 11 Months |
28 | 45 Days |
35 | 20 Days |
If stored cold, allow to return to room temperature before using

There is no practical minimum bond thickness for this adhesive although you do need to ensure that *some* adhesive is present, which is why glass spheres are sometimes used to prevent the adhesive from being scraped off completely. Essentially though, as long as an even thin film is applied the bond strength between the two materials will be good.
Yes, certainly. In fact the easiest way to do this is to simply leave the static mixer nozzle in place after you use the adhesive. The adhesive that's in the nozzle will have been mixed and so will cure but the glue at the start of the nozzle will be unmixed and not cured meaning the nozzle will twist off perfectly and the glue inside will have been protected from the atmosphere and so will be perfectly preserved ready for use.
A typical application of the adhesive is approximately a 0.5mm thick layer. At this thickness, one 50ml cartridge would cover an area 30cm by 30cm; a 400ml cartridge would cover an area approximately 90cm by 90cm.
For best results when gluing over a large surface area, use a spreader to help ensure the adhesive is laid down in an even layer.
Nylon, in common with many inert thermoplastics, can be difficult to bond to, even with the modern generation of structural adhesives. However, it is possible to bond with VM100 if you “flame treat” the nylon just prior to adhesive application. The flame treatment helps the adhesive get the best bond possible to the nylon
If you're using the VM100 as the adhesive, your best best would probably be ABS as it can be bonded with the VM100 and should stand up to the temperatures that you might experience in your car.
No, unfortunately VM100 Black is not designed to stick any rubber or silicone materials. Silicone is particular can be a very difficult material to bond to and will almost always require a specialist silicone adhesive.
Yes, our VM100B is highly UV resistant.
The VM100 makes an excellent adhesive for bonding tabs on test tokens. In our own laboratory we also use ET515 Semi Flexible 15min Professional Epoxy Adhesive for some tests where more flexural strength is required.
Plexus is an adhesive manufacturer who are best know for their methacrylate adhesives. VuduGlu VM100 is also a methacrylate adhesive (an MMA) which is similar to some Plexus MMAs although it is not manufactured by Plexus and does not directly match any of their product variants.
VM100 Black will bond reasonably well to ABS. It would be important to key the surface and give it a thorough clean before bonding.
Yes, VM100 Black is a very diverse adhesive and can bond a variety of materials. Aluminium to aluminium with VM100 will give a good strong bond. Both surfaces will need a good key and a thorough clean to achieve the best results.
VM100 is not electrically conductive in its natural form. Like many adhesives and resins, conductivity can be very fractionally improved through the addition of metallic particles and/or carbon fibres, however the resistance is extremely high in these circumstances.
Once fully cured you will have no problems sanding and shaping the cured adhesive as necessary.
Yes, VM100 Black would make a good adhesive for this application. The bond strength to aluminium and carbon fibre would both be excellent, subject to appropriate preparation (de-greasing, keying).
We would recommend our VM100 Black 10min Methacrylate Adhesive; it has excellent bond strength between aluminium and carbon fibre.
The cap on the VM100 is removed by initially snapping the cap off leaving the exposed nozzle.
Once you have finished with using the glue, the snapped off cap is turned upside down and will fit over the glue tube by pressing on and rotating 90 degrees clockwise to seal.
It is a perfect product for carbon fiber to carbon fiber bond. It is also OK to fill in some small imperfections onto the laminates, it's already black. I do not recommand it in case there a too much parts involved in the bonding operation. It fast curing properties can be a real plus, but if there is a lot of parts to bond at the same time, then you may rush to have everything positionned and aligned
Works fantastic to glue aluminium to carbon fibre. A small amount makes a strong connection. The mixing tubes are a nice addition which makes mixing easy. Be prepared with all your parts cleaned and ready to glue before mixing as it cures fast. great product.
"VuduGlu VM100 really is witchcraft of the adhesive world!" Never a truer word was spoken! I used a 25ml syringe to re-set a threaded metal socket into a carbon-framed bike after unsuccessfully using some other products - with complete success. Be aware that if you're not going to be using a whole tube at a time you'll need to order a disposable mixing nozzle for each future application. Ask me how I know that ;o)
